jo pearson art stuff

Jo Pearson is a multidisciplinary artist whose previous film and web work has been funded by the Arts Council, Channel 4 and the BBC. Her work has been shown on British television as well as in dozens of festivals worldwide

She studied at Leeds University, Central St Martins, Birkbeck College, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and more recently Manchester Metropolitan University

In her unique performance and sound work she explores, through various online and 'live' personae, often from an absurd perspective and with acerbic wit, wide-ranging themes from life in general to life in detail. And even the environment, sometimes. She willingly treads a very fine line between art, pop, poetry, musical, music hall, cabaret and karaoke, regularly defying classification

Recent 'live' performances and broadcasts have included Vaudeville (Green Room), Victoria Baths, (Network@Futuresonic) and Artradio (Cornerhouse)

Please see column to the right for forthcoming events
